The release of God of War: Ragnarok has not been pushed back until 2023. Following the flurry of reports, Sony wanted to announce that the video game will be released in 2022. However, the title’s marketing window remains a mystery for the time being. It’s worth noting that God of War Ragnarok is the franchise’s fifth installment and a direct sequel to the 2018 game.
God of War Ragnarök was announced in 2020 and is one of the most anticipated games of the year. The number of speculations concerning its release date has increased in recent months. The game was supposed to be released in 2021, however it was delayed till now. During Summer Game Fest, a lot of information was unveiled, and the roadmap for release dates for the rest of 2022 and into 2023 is now much clearer. While there were lots of games that many were anticipating to see throughout the course of a weekend of presentations, God of War Ragnarok was once again absent. To make matters worse, the sequel’s merchandise line has now added another another release date to the mix.
God of War Ragnarok had previously been postponed for a variety of reasons, including a hygienic crisis that we all know about, as well as the fact that the actor who gives his features to Kratos would have been wounded many weeks prior, forcing the studios to reshoot multiple scenes. Santa Monica Studios had no choice but to wait for the restoration of this one to be completed.
Santa Monica Studio’s Community Manager, Blue Owlz Medic, confirmed the information on his Twitter account. “This year, God of War Ragnarök will be released,” says the author.
However, we discovered on ResetEra that additional Raganarok cosmetics have emerged online. They will be released in October 2022 and feature a strange t-shirt with a long quotation on it as well as two exceptionally cute plushes (World Serpent and Dinner, an octopus). That’s a month later than the previously disclosed September 2022 release date, which was recently put on other Ragnarok product lines. In the trailer below, the octopod may be seen on Durlin’s shoulder.
In addition to a September release, and now an October release, there have been hints that Ragnarok will arrive on PS5 in November, albeit not until the end of 2022. The longer PlayStation takes to announce one of the numerous official release dates, the more God of War fans will become concerned. The rest of 2022 appears to be bleak, and Ragnarok may be the only impending title capable of dethroning Elden Ring as Game of the Year.
